Wesley H. Adams, M.D.
Originally from Utah, and then Maine, Dr. Adams received his undergraduate degree from Southern Utah University, Cedar City, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. He completed an internship at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Adams joined the practice in 2008. Dr. Adams practices comprehensive ophthalmology including cataract surgery, intravitreal injections, and eyelid surgery.
Patricia A. Cosgrove, M.D., M.P.H.
Born in San Francisco, California, Dr. Cosgrove received her undergraduate and medical degrees with Honors from the University of Washington, Seattle. Following her internship in Oakland, California, she earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health focusing on the epidemiology of eye diseases. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Dr. Cosgrove joined the practice in 1997. Dr. Cosgrove practices comprehensive ophthalmology including cataract surgery and eyelid surgery.
Lisa A. Herrygers, M.D.
Raised on a ranch north of Belgrade, Montana, Dr. Herrygers graduated from Montana State University. She received her medical degree from the University of Washington through the WWAMI program and completed her ophthalmology training at the University of Arizona. She is a fellowship trained Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Herrygers joined the practice in 2003. Dr. Herrygers specializes in glaucoma care and cataract surgery.
Kristy L. Moeller, M.D.
Born in Hamilton, Montana, Dr. Moeller received her undergraduate degree with Highest Honors from Montana State University. She completed medical school through the WWAMI program and her ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington, Seattle. Prior to joining Medical Eye Specialists, she worked as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Washington Ophthalmology Department. Dr. Moeller joined the practice in 2011. Dr. Moeller practices comprehensive ophthalmology including cataract surgery, intravitreal injections, and eyelid surgery.
Joe Sheehan, M.D., M.S
Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, Dr. Sheehan holds an undergraduate and master’s degree in Nutritional Science from the University of New Hampshire, and medical degree from Chicago Medical School. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington, Seattle. He was awarded a fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the Francis I. Proctor Foundation of the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Sheehan joined the practice in 2014. Dr. Sheehan emphasizes in cataract, corneal, and anterior segment surgery, and the medical treatment of corneal and external diseases.
Karen Shimshak, M.D.
Pediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Eye Alignment Specialist
Dr. Shimshak joined Medical Eye Specialists in 2016 with over 25 years of experience. She has practiced throughout the Midwest and currently in Florida at Nemour’s Children’s Hospital. She was raised in Wisconsin and completed her medical school and ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her fellowship training was at Indiana University in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus, as well as preceptorship training in ocular genetics at Johns Hopkins-Wilmer Eye Institute. Dr. Shimshak’s clinical practice emphasis is in pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus and eyelid surgery.
Callie Harberts, OD
OptometristBorn in Helena, Montana, Dr. Harberts received her undergraduate degree from Rocky Mountain College and her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. She completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care Optometry through the VA in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After practicing in Fort Wayne for several years, she and her husband, also an Optometrist, returned to Montana. Dr. Harberts joined Medical Eye Specialists in October 2016 and is now seeing patients of all ages.
